Bayern Munich are this close to appointing their next manager, but it won’t be former BVB man Thomas Tuchel. According to CEOAKarl-Heinz Rummenigge, the announcement will come this month.
“I’m working on the basis that we’ll present our new coach by the end of April at the latest. But there’s no rush… We’ve already hired coaches just a few days before the start of training. The credo is: We want a German-speaking coach. And that’s how it’ll be.”
So, why won’t that be Tuchel?
“Our sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has held talks with coaches and Tuchel was among them. He informed us that he’s signed for another club. But that isn’t a problem for us…”
Meanwhile, a source says Tuchel is PSG bound. Perhaps he can bring them the Champions League glory they so desperately crave.
As for Bayern, they are cruising. Yesterday they would pummel Borussia Dortmund 6-0, scoring 5 goals in the first half. But that’s not all. They now lead the league by 17 points over Schalke. Aside from that, they take on Sevilla in the UCL quarterfinals. Is one last UCL title under Jupp Heynckes going to happen?
At this point, we wouldn’t bet against it.
