Gio Gonzalez got the start for the Brewers of Game 1 of the NLCS. But if you’ve watched Milwaukee for even a week, who starts doesn’t matter. It literally means nothing. And Friday night, he went two innings. Not two bad innings, mind you. Just two innings. One hit — a Manny Machado solo shot in the second inning — was his only blemish. But to start the third, manager Craig Counsell would turn to starter/reliever Brandon Woodruff. And in the bottom half, he would lead off against Clayton Kershaw.
Easy out, right?
Brandon Woodruff are you KIDDING ME!?
The @Brewers pitcher just took Kershaw deep!

Of course not. Why would we even think that?
As of this writing, it’s 1-1 in the third. But this game is already bananas. And we’ve only just begun.
