Hanley RamArez is 34 years old, and his Boston Red Sox are the second-best team in the AL East. ButARamArez knows that last season, he left plenty to be desired. However, it’s time to put that all in the past and leave it there. He’s looking forward to the 2018 season. And he promises big things.
“Oh, yeah. No doubt,”ARamArez would answer in response to the team’s power woes last season. He know’s what he’s capable of. But last season did not go well. And here’s why:
“You’re gonna see it, for sure. Literally, I was hitting with one arm last year and I hit 23 (home runs). Now that I feel good, there are not going to be excuses. Better go out there and hit 30.”
But that’s not all. Undergoing shoulder surgery in the offseason appears to have made a huge difference.
“I felt a difference right away … Now I can have that Hanley RamArez swing that I always had with the Marlins. … I know I can get 100 RBIs and 30 homers.”
Last season, the Red Sox would finish 93-69 en route to an AL East title. But then they ran into the Houston Astros, ultimately falling 3-1 in the American League Division Series.
