While the details are unknown at the moment, this is a good get for the Yankees. If nothing else, Walker is a good depth signing. But it’s unlikely that he’s going to be just that. And the biggest thing with Walker is his injury history.
But last season, despite playing in just 111 games, he would put up solid offensive numbersa��hitting .265/.362/.439 with 14 home runs. He would be an on-base machine for the Brewers in just 38 games, slashing .267/.409/.433 with 8 doubles and 4 home runs.
So, where does he fit on the Yankees? If nothing else, he’s cover. After all, the Yankees have a few prospects waiting in the wings.
