While he lost his bid to reclaim the lightweight gold at UFC 229 against Khabib Nurmagomedov, there’s no shortage of high-profile and lucrative bouts for Conor McGregor. But where does he go from here?
Well, here are the most intriguing options…
Rematch with Floyd Mayweather
Mayweather has spoken recently about boxing McGregor again, but there doesn’t seem to be much interest in seeing this happen. McGregor signed a huge six-fight deal with the UFC just prior to his match with Nurmagomedov, and this week claimed he would make just under $55 million for UFC 229 title bout.
The original match with Mayweather was all about business, with both fighters reportedly netting over $100 million. There’s no reason to believe another fight between the two would come close to that revenue.
Plus, Mayweather also announced this past month he will be taking on Manny Pacquiao again.
