Maybe Khabib Nurmagomedov has been taking notes from Conor McGregor after all. It’s been quite the couple of weeks for the UFC lightweight champion. After submitting McGregor at UFC 229, Nurmagomedov would jump into the audience. After that, he would threaten to leave the promotion. And, he even sent out a tweet to WWE. But now? Well now he’s calling out Floyd Mayweather.
Because of course he is. Why didn’t we see this coming?
While in Russia over the weekend, Khabib ran into the CEO of Mayweather Productions — Leonard Ellerbe. Ellerbe then took this to Instagram, where “The Eagle” had a message for “Money” Himself.

It’s everything we didn’t know we were missing, right?
“Let’s go Floyd, we have to fight now. 50-0 vs 27-0. Two guys, never lose,” Nurmagomedov says in the video. “…Because in the jungle, only one king. Of course I am the king, because he cannot drop (Conor) McGregor, but I dropped him easily.”
Truly outstanding stuff. At this point we don’t know if he’s simply trolling McGregor with this “call out” or if he’s genuinely serious. Either way, it’s bound to get a response from Mayweather. So from threatening to leave UFC and tweeting WWE to calling out Floyd Mayweather, Khabib is keeping things interesting.
Hey that’s what Dana White wants in his champions, right?
