It’s almost that time, basketball fans! The NBA All-Star Game is right around the corner. But first, it’s time to announce the captains. And you’re in luck, because we’ve got them. First off, here’s how the East shakes out.
“LeBron JamesAhas been named as one of two captains along withAStephen Curry for the 2018 All-Star Game.
“James headlines a group of starters from the East that includesAKyrie Irving,AGiannis Antetokounmpo,AJoel Embiid, andADeMar DeRozan.
“Those four players will enter a pot with theAWestern Conference startersAfor James and Curry to first pick from, as this will be the inaugural season in which captains will choose the two teams.”
LeBron would just edge out Giannis in the fan voting. In fact, Giannis would finish with the second-highest amount of votes across the boardaeastern and western All-Stars. But that’s not all. While LeBron and Giannis would share the same number of media votes (99), Giannis would actually edge the king in the player vote (226 to 220). Think he’s going to be captain next season?
Out west, Curry would edge Durant in fan voting while media and players alike gave their nod to KD. But as we know, KD wants nothing to do with picking a team. Therefore, that responsibility falls to Curry. So, which All-Star would you pick first?
