Former Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue still has a gig in the NBA. It just happens to be in an unofficial capacity. But right now, he’s assisting Doc Rivers and the Los Angeles Clippers.
He has been an unofficial helper per Los Angeles Times’ Andrew Greif.
Clippers coach Doc Rivers has brought in former Cavaliers coach Ty Lue to spend time around the team in an informal role, Rivers told the @latimes. Lue will observe and give his thoughts. Lue was first around the team yesterday and is here tonight.

Lue and Rivers worked together before when both were members of the Boston Celtics from 2011-2013. Then briefly again with the Clippers in 2013-14.
Heck, Rivers was even his coach for a short amount of time back in 2003 — when a then-26-year-old Lue played for the Orlando Magic. Rivers was the head coach of the Magic, but was canned after a dismal 1-10 start that season that year.
Meanwhile, his Clippers are off to a solid 17-13 start. But they’ve lost four in a row as they prepare to take on the Dallas Mavericks tonight. Right now, they’re looking to recruit Kawhi Leonard to the team next season. They’ve even been sending high-ranking executives to Raptors’ games to watch him in action this season.
Will Lue attend one at some point?
