Draymond Green and Kevin Durant are trying to put this week behind them. But before that happens, we’re getting more details from their altercation. And that’s brought us to this: Draymond gave Durant a dare — to leave Golden State. Yahoo’s Chris Haynes reports the following:
“But what ultimately led to Green’s suspension, sources said, was a remark in which he dared Durant to bolt in free agency next summer. … Green blurted to Durant something along the lines of, ‘We don’t need you. We won without you. Leave.’”
You know, just your usual teammate stuff.
Look, the Warriors have all the talent in the world. It’s very likely that they’re going to be fine. After all, teams with this much talent always have issues. There’s too much ego for them not to. But at the end of the day, they are the Warriors. Just like last season, Draymond Green, Durant and the rest of them will figure it out. It’ll help a whole lot once Stephen Curry returns as well. He’s the heartbeat of this team. And if it wasn’t clear before, it’s becoming more and more clear by the day.
Thursday night, the Warriors lost to the Rockets 107-86. Are things spiraling out of control for real? Time will tell.
