We’ve been over this all week — there might be trouble in paradise. And by paradise, we mean the Golden State Warriors locker room. If we remember (of course we remember), Draymond Green and Kevin Durant got into it Monday night. Then on Tuesday, the Warriors would suspend Draymond one game without pay — fining him $120,000 in the process. In his return to action on Thursday, Draymond put up zero points as the Warriors got their teeth kicked in by the Rockets/
But Durant doesn’t want to talk about any of it. Particularly the altercation with Green, though. Don’t just take our word for it, though. KD will be more than happy to tell you to back off.
“Don’t ask me about that again,” Durant told reporters (via ESPN’s Nick Friedell) following the loss.
It wasn’t just any loss, of course. They took on the struggling Rockets and lost by 21 points. That’s not nothing, and head coach Steve Kerr knows it. He also knows they’re in a bad place right now, but there’s no time to dwell.
“We’re banged up a little bit physically and right now we’re banged up spiritually,” Kerr told reporters. “There’s no getting around that. So we’ve got to fill up our cup and get our spirit back, get our energy back, and we’re going to. It’s a long, long season. It’s a tough stretch we’re dealing with, but I know our guys.”
And we know them too. With Durant, they’ve won two straight NBA titles. He’s taken home MVP honors in both of those Finals. Not only are they looking to three-peat, but they’re going for their fourth title in five years. Something tells us they’re going to be okay. Even if it takes a little bit of time.
Up next, the Warriors take on Dallas away from home. That comes at us Saturday night.
