Carmelo Anthony won’t be re-joining the Houston Rockets. The Golden State Warriors have an open roster spot. Are you thinking what I’m thinking? Max chaos — please, let’s go for max chaos. After all, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green are still picking up the pieces. Stephen Curry is still out with an injury. Oh, and DeMarcus Cousins is on the team as well! Seriously, we need max dysfunction. We crave it.
But unfortunately, the Undefeated’s Marc J. Spears reports that the Warriors are not interested in bringing Anthony in. Though, Draymond Green still believes the man can play.
“Of course, he can still play in this league,” Green told reporters. “There is no doubt in my mind. He’s still Melo.”
That he is. But he hasn’t been ‘Melo’ since the 2016 season. He would only put up 16.2 points per game with OKC last season. However, things got worse this season in just 10 games with the Rockets. Right now, he’s averaging just 13.2 points per game. As things stand, it’s difficult to envision a contender taking a chance on him. Especially after his extremely short stint with Houston.
But who knows? Strange things happen all the time. Just do us a favor, Warriors — turn the drama up to 11.
