The Philadelphia 76ers weren’t going to keep winning forever. But did anybody have their streak ending on a vintage Dwyane Wade playoff appearance?
On Monday night, the Heat would hold off Philly to even up the series at one apiece. Not only that, but Miami now takes the 1-1 split back home as they hope to upend the No. 3 seed out east. And if not for Wade, this almost certainly doesn’t happen.
D-Wade would put up 28 points on 11-of-16 shooting. But as you’ll see here, he did more than just score the basketball.
And after the game, the veteran didn’t entirely shy away from the spotlight. But above all else, he knows his role at this point in his career. More than that, he knows what must be done in these situations. And he continues to deliver.
“When I came back in, it was just to calm everything down, and make the right play. I was confident that we had control of the game, and we made some plays.”
So just like that, this series is tied. But that leaves us with a few questions ahead of Game 3:
Will Joel Embiid be back on the court? Can the 76ers steal one back in Miami? And, how many more of these performances does Wade have left in him?
It’s playoff basketball, baby.
