Tonight, the Washington Wizards look to force a Game 7 against the Toronto Raptors. But they are going to have to do so without the services of Otto Porter, Jr. In fact, it appears as though he’s done for the season. Friday, the Wizards would announce that he underwent a procedure on his leg, which will keep him out indefinitely. From the official announcement cardura tablets buy, buy zithromax. :
“Wizards forward Otto Porter Jr. underwent a successful left lower leg fasciotomy for compartment syndrome earlier today.
But here’s the biggest thing. Why, in fact, did Porter need the operation?
“The procedure was required after clinical examination confirmed the diagnosis of compartment syndrome (a critical increase in pressure resulting from an injury) and was necessary to prevent permanent damage to the muscles in the leg…
“Porter will be out indefinitely.”
On the season, the five-year forward would average 14.7 points on 50.3% shooting (44.1% from long range) while racking up 6.1 rebounds per contest. But that’s not all. Breaking these averages down to per 36 minutes totals results in the following: 16.8 points and 7.3 rebounds per contest.
Dealing with a bone bruise, Porter would see his averages dip to 1o points and five rebounds over five playoff games. If the Wizards can make it past the first round, perhaps he comes back. But Washington has to win their next two games without their starting small forward. Their backs are already up against a wall.
And this certainly doesn’t make anything easier. However, the Wizards are 2-0 at home in the series. They are at home for Game 6 tonight. So why ruin a good thing, right?
