The Washington Wizards are spiraling. Not only have they lost two in a row, but they’re 5-11 overall. It’s mind-boggling. Especially when they have all that talent. But now, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, reports that the Wizards are putting everyone on the trade block. That includes John Wall and Bradley Beal.
Additionally, Washington’s management says that every player will be available for trade. If the right deal comes along, of course. The report also states that they would like to keep both Wall and Beal. But they understand that a dramatic overhaul may be what’s best for the franchise.
Ahead of Tuesday night’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers, Washington has looked lost multiple times while failing to stop anyone from scoring. The Wizards are bottom feeders in almost every major statistical category.
With rifts occurring between Beal and Wall, the two have still managed to play well off each other during their career. Blame has also been pointed at GM Ernie Grunfeld for failing to keep players together. Or, for shipping them off.
Washington will be in a tougher situation next season when Wall’s super-max contract goes into effect. It’s a contract that will pay him $169 million over the next five years. Meanwhile, Beal’s contract comes to an end in 2021. Will the Wizards be able to turn their season around?
Or is it already too late?
