Despite being on bye, the New England Patriots would have quite a week. Of course, it all stems from thisAESPN report courtesy of Seth Wickersham. There are details of coach Bill Belichick not wanting to trade Jimmy Garoppolo. But there are also details of quarterback Tom Brady souring on Belichick’s negativity.
But now the signal-caller is speaking up. Speaking to theABoston Herald, Brady describes his relationship with Belichick as ‘great’.
“I have a great relationship with coach Belichick. Weave worked together for 18 years. Thereas no coach Iad rather play for and Iave loved my experience here. I certainly couldnat be the player I am today without playing for such a great coach. I see these as all positive things. . . . That obviously doesnat sell many newspapers.”
But he doesn’t stop there. Of course, Bradyaespecially in recent yearsahas become all about positive thinking. And again, this is PR 101. Of course neither party is going to come out and say ‘Oh hey, all that stuff is true. We can’t stand each other.’ It doesn’t have to be one extreme or the other. There’s a middle ground, a grey area.
“To me, I have such gratitude for my time here. I love my experience. I continue to love my experience. Weave had a great season so far and hopefully we can write a great chapter, a great ending to this season by going out and playing great in the playoffs.”
