Martavis Bryant is no longer going to be catching passes from Ben Roethlisberger. But he is going to be catching them from Derek Carr. That’s because during the first round of Thursday’s NFL Draft, the Steelers would trade himAfor Oakland’s third-rounder.
“We have traded WR Martavis Bryant to the Raiders for their third round pick (79th overall).”
Over parts of three seasons with Pittsburgh, Bryant would rack up 1,917 while hauling in 126 receptions and 17 scores. But that’s not all. A suspension would see him miss the entire 2016 season. And while eight starts in 2017 is a career-high, Bryant will look to do so much more in Oakland.
Of course, the Raiders are coming off a disappointing season in their own right Derek Carr didn’t do well; Amari Cooper didn’t do well either. But there’s plenty of talent there. Now all Jon Gruden has to do is put it all together.
