To nobody’s surprise, DB Malcolm Butler is moving on. But it comes at a pretty big cost.
The #Titans are signing CB Malcolm Butler on a 5-year contract worth more than $61M with more than $30M guaranteed, source said. Wow.

The $61 million figure is jaw-dropping, but as always, it’s the guaranteed money that matters. More than that, Butler is probably ready for a fresh start.
In four seasons with the Patriots, he would rack up just eight interceptions but average 12 pass defenses per seasons. And in his previous three seasons, he would record no fewer than 12 pass defenses.
It’s clear that the 28-year-old still has enough left in the tank. Not to mention, the Titansadespite just a 9-7 seasonaare coming off a playoff appearance. They have plenty of young talent to work with as well, providing Butler with a fairly competitive team going forward.
The Titans host New England in 2018, so that should be fun.
