Right now, Odell Beckham Jr. is a wide receiver for the New York Giants. But the coaching staff and front office aren’t exactly eager to talk about him at the moment. When GMADave Gettleman was asked whether or not he wants Beckham on the team, he responded with the following:
Giants GM Dave Gettleman talked about “eliminating internal and external distractions” for his team. So does he want Odell Beckham on his team? “I’m not going there. Next question.”

That’s certainly not a ringing endorsement, but there’s more to it. Gettleman isn’t happy about the trade speculation, not to mention rumors of a potential holdout. In fact, he has yet to hear from either OBJ or his agent on either front.
@Giants GM Dave Gettleman holding court right now….and he’s absolutely livid about the swirling trade speculation linked to Odell Beckham, Jr. Says neither Odell nor his agent has told Giants that OBJ won’t step on field in ‘18 without new contract. Stay tuned. pic.twitter.com/f23eIbtnh2

And let’s be honest: few have the talent that Beckham possesses. Gettleman knows and understands that, which is why he doesn’t rule him out as part of their future.

OBJ’s contract situationahis fifth-year option will pay him $8 millionaisn’t going away. The Giants need him; the Rams want him. And there’s potential this gets very messy really quickly.
