Last week against the Detroit Lions, Packers kicker Mason Crosby didn’t have a good day. In fact, he would miss all FOUR field goal attempts. AND, and extra point. In other words, he would leave 13 points on the field in a game the Packers lost by eight. But on Monday night against the San Francisco 49ers, he didn’t disappoint. In fact, he would end up playing the role of hero.
Crosby made all four of his field goal attempts on Monday. And, all three of his extra point attempts. Then after Aaron Rodgers led his side into field goal position with three seconds remaining, the silver fox stepped up one more time.
Sure it was a chip shot, but after last week nothing was certain.

What a difference a week makes, right?
After six weeks, the Packers are 3-2-1. Somehow, they’re right in the thick of the NFC North race. Now they get a much-needed bye before going on the road in consecutive weeks to take on the unbeaten Rams (Week 8) and red-hot New England (Week 9). Maybe they’ll be a little healthier by then. They’ll need to be.
In the meantime, good for Mason Crosby. He put Week 5 behind him in a hurry.
