New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady didn’t practice on Friday. That, of course, would be the first practice he missed all season. But don’t worry, Pats fans. Brady is going to suit up today against the Jets, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
#Patriots QB Tom Brady, limited with a knee injury and missing practice on Friday because of an illness, is set to play today, per @MikeGiardi. Source adds that the practice designations were something to monitor, but merely precautionary.

For what it’s worth, the Patriots would likely be able to top the Jets without Brady. After all, they’ve lost four in a row. And before the bye, they lost to the Buffalo Bills by an embarrassing score of 41-10. Therefore, Brady shouldn’t need to do too much on Sunday.
Still, he didn’t look good before the bye — completing just 21-of-41 passes with zero touchdowns in a loss against the Titans. And on the season, he’s having a solid but not great campaign. In 10 games, he’s completing 65.2% of his passes and averaging 274.8 yards per game. His passer rating is down to 94.7, though — a far cry from the 105 average over the past three seasons. Touchdown Tom’s QBR (62.9) is also significantly down from last season (73.2). Plus, he has just 17 touchdowns to seven interceptions — already one fewer pick than all of last season.
The Jets are middle of the pack in pass defense, which could be seen as encouraging. But they also just lost 41-10 to the Bills. And we’re not expecting the Patriots to lose back-to-back games again.
