We’re in the final lap, folks. The NFL has entered Week 16 and with two weeks left in the season, it’s definitely make or break time for teams looking to wrap up seeding. In other words, the playoffs are right around the corner. The AFC has become increasingly tight while the NFC is looking clearer and clearer.
Meanwhile, how’s your fantasy team doing? If you’re anything like me, then you were already eliminated.
Is your favorite team still on pace to make the playoffs? If not, are there sweeping changes on the horizon? Before we get too far ahead, let’s take a closer look at where Week 15 got us.
Go For Two!
The Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers gave us an epic game to kickoff Thursday night. I think entering the game you could still make a strong case for Patrick Mahomes, but now you almost have to add Phillip Rivers into that MVP conversation.
This was a game that had the makings of another Chiefs’ blowout — even without Kareem Hunt. It was 28-14 in the fourth quarter and then Rivers went to work. The major Achilles Heel of the Chiefs is their defense. Even with Eric Berry coming back — which is huge — it’s not enough. Time and time again, Rivers chewed up Kansas City’s defense and saved his best for last when Anthony Lynn left his offense out there after scoring a touchdown to make it 27-28 with four seconds remaining.
Mike Williams torched Kansas City all night and it’s only fitting he’d be WIDE OPEN for the two-point conversion to win the game. Now in a first-place tie, the Chargers need Kansas City to lose one game while winning out themselves to overthrow them for the division lead and potential No. 1 seed in the AFC.
This is a team that no one wants to play right now.
