We’re now two weeks into the NFL season, and we’ve already had two ties. But how much sillier can things get? There’s drama on drama in Pittsburgh, of course. But is it as bad as a Buffalo Bills player literally retiring at halftime? Whatever the case may be, there’s been plenty to enjoy during the early days of the NFL season.
So, what did Week 2 teach us?
Andy Dalton Shines on Thursday Night
Andy Dalton entered prime-time games with an abyssal 5-15 record, but don’t tell him that. Thursday night, the Red Riffle was outstanding — tossing four first-half touchdowns. Three of them went to his security blanket in A.J. Green, and another to Tyler Boyd, to put the Baltimore Ravens in a 28-7 hole early.
Baltimore would try to make a game of it, as Joe Flacco managed to cut the deficit to 23-28 in the third quarter. But after dismantling the Buffalo Bills just days prior, their defense couldn’t stop the Bengals.
The night belonged to Cincinnati, as they put up 425 yards on offense. The status of RB Joe Mixon remains to be seen, but both teams will enjoy a mini 10-day bye before playing again.
CIN def. BAL 34-23.
