A couple games into the MLB season, it would have been hard to imagine the Red Sox starting out 1-4.
But, that is exactly where we are at in Boston. Boston has dropped three out of four games to the rebuilding Seattle Mariners and dropped the series opener to Oakland last night. The Red Sox are coming off a 108 win season, and world series title where they dominated the best teams in baseball. Boston pitchers have allowed 32 runs with 11 home runs in just 21 innings of baseball in 2019.
Those numbers are what you would expect the Sox to do to opposing pitchers. The script has been flipped on Boston in the first weeks of the season. But, Sox legend Pedro Martinez insists there is nothing to worry about — stating the staff will turn around in no time.
I’m not worried or concerned about the @RedSox starting pitchers. They might not be performing to the best of their capacity but they’ll come around. This is just the beginning. Relax.

If there is anybody who knows how to succeed on the mound in Boston, it is Pedro Martinez. Martinez is close with this squad, acting as a mentor and consultant to the pitching staff and team. In August of 2018, Pedro was seen working with playoff hero Nathan Eovaldi prior to the Red Sox playoff push.
Eovaldi proceeded to compile an outstanding 1.61 ERA during the 2018 postseason. Eovaldi looked unhittable during all three series’ in 2018. Martinez has worked close with this group for multiple years now, and does not seem to be worried. If there is anybody worth trusting about the status of the team, Martinez is atop of that list.
