The belief remains thatAJupp Heynckes will step down from the Bayern Munich managerial post at season’s end. But to his credit, he’s being very secretive about it.
“IAnever said that I’d be stopping on June 30.”
But Heynckes knows how difficult this job can be, especially at his age.
“I’m going to turn 73 in May, and I’m going to continue to carry out work like this? It’s incredibly intensive, and I say in all honesty, it’s costing me a huge amount in terms of quality of life.”
Since returning, Bayern have won 24 of 26 matches under Heynckes. And, they are firmly in the driver’s seat to qualify for the Champions League quarterfinals. It’s silly to assume another treble is coming under this manager, but Bayern are unstoppable at the moment.
